It’s cloudy in Anchorage this morning — we can’t even see the mountains behind the city. That’s ok; we have a bike ride along the coast planned for the morning, and then we’ll be driving down to Homer.
Anchorage isn’t a very attractive city; lots of wide streets and extraordinarily ugly buildings (all squat, all square). But the mountains behind you and the ocean in front remind me a little of Hawai’i (so does the bad architecture). And the food is wonderful, the people friendly, and there are endless numbers of outdoor activities nearby. Glad we stayed here for a couple of days.
